NRWASA Transmission System, Well Upgrades and SCADA Design Client:   Neuse Regional Water and Sewer Authority Project: The East Group was one of two engineering firms selected to work with eight water utilities in Pitt and Lenoir Counties. The project resulted in an alternative supply of water by assisting in the formation of the Neuse Regional Water and Sewer Authority (NRWASA). The engineering firms designed an approximate 72 mile distribution system costing approximately $140 Million. The East Group design and managed the construction of 16 miles of 16-inch and 12-inch size water main including 2 pressure reducing valve stations to service the Bell Arthur Water Corporation located in western Pitt County, North Carolina. Additionally, to allow the blending of the water provided by the NRWASA plant with water provided by the existing groundwater wells of the 8 water utilities, The East Group designed and managed the construction of ammonia feed systems at 60 different well sites. The East Group also designed and managed the construction of the new NRWASA SCADA system to interface with the existing SCADA systems of the eight water utilities. The new SCADA system will allow the entire system to be monitored and operated from the NRWASA plant site.
