2nd Electrical Service Client:   Automotive Parts Manufacturer Project: Provided design services for the installation of a second 480VAC, 2000A electrical utility service at an industrial facility. The design incorporated an electrical utility transformer, a soft-transfer switch, a main distribution switchboard, and provisions for a future 1600 KW diesel generator. The purpose of the project was to relocate designated electrical loads from the original 3,000A utility service / 2 MW diesel generator to a 2nd electrical utility service and to provide electrical capacity for future loads. The soft-transfer switch will allow for the transfer between the electrical utility company and the future generator without any interruption of power to the load. The design will allow the future generator to operator as a backup power source in the event of a utility power failure and as a peak shaving unit during peak demands.
