HVAC Designer

The East Group has an immediate need for a HVAC Designer with 5+ years of experience to work in our Raleigh, NC office.  Project focus area will mainly be in the Healthcare market.  The position will present the opportunity to work on a variety of Healthcare projects both in scale and type.  Candidates must possess good communication and organization skills and be able to work well in a team environment.  A successful candidate will be given the opportunity to grow and progress in their career.  Essential job responsibilities include:

• Knowledge and experience in the design, under the direction of the design engineer, of HVAC systems, including but not limited the ability to: lay out HVAC systems including equipment, ductwork, air distribution devices, piping and ancillary components; select HVAC systems equipment; perform heating and cooling load calculations, fan static pressure calculations, and pump hydraulic calculations for sizing of systems under the direction of the design engineer.

• Familiarity with writing HVAC specifications.

• Familiarity with checking HVAC submittals and shop drawings.

• Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards.

• Able to critically think through the design process.

• Able to communicate and coordinate with members of the design team.

• Able to perform field work of existing facilities and develop existing condition documents for the HVAC systems and communicate with the design engineer regarding the particulars of the facility. 

• Advanced knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD.

• Functional knowledge and experience working with Revit is a plus.

Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
