Bridgestone Cooling Tower Platform
Bridgestone Cooling Tower Platform
To support the replacement of critical cooling infrastructure while minimizing disruption to plant operations, Bridgestone constructed a new elevated cooling tower platform adjacent to its existing manufacturing facility.
The project included the design of a steel-framed platform and supporting foundations capable of carrying a new cooling tower with an operating weight of approximately 45,000 pounds. Access walkways and maintenance accommodations were incorporated into the structure to support long-term operation and serviceability.
Because the existing cooling tower also served as the roof of an adjacent support building, the project required structural modifications and new roof framing to maintain the building enclosure following removal of the original equipment. The completed improvements allowed the new cooling tower to be installed and commissioned before the existing system was taken offline, helping maintain continuity of operations throughout construction.
