The East Group provided design services for a 2,900 SF renovation within the Interventional Radiology (IR) suite at UNC Health Rex. Located on the second floor, the project focused on expanding surgical capacity and modernizing support spaces to better serve patients and staff.

The scope included the creation of one fully equipped operating room with associated support spaces, along with a second operating room shell for future fit-out. Additional improvements included new storage for operating room supplies, a clean supply area, soiled holding, and an EVS closet – each designed to support efficiency, functionality, and infection control.

This renovation increases surgical flexibility while positioning the facility for continued growth in advanced care services.
