The East Group has partnered with West Carteret Water Corporation (WCWC) since its inception in the 1980s, providing ongoing engineering services to support the system’s growth and reliability. Our team has led the design, permitting, construction administration, and inspection for all six existing groundwater wells in the Castle Hayne Aquifer, which also serves as a regional water source.

Most recently, we completed Phase V Water Treatment Plant improvements, expanding system capacity and enhancing overall performance.

Key project components included:

• Water Treatment Plant Improvements
  A new 2.4 MGD aeration unit, two additional softeners, a new color removal unit, control system upgrades, an expanded laboratory, a new chlorine storage room, and additional electrical generation.
• New Wells
  Two new wells (Well 7 and Well 8) connected to the existing raw water system, expanding the well field within the Croatan National Forest.
• Elevated Tank Improvements
  Construction of a new 750,000-gallon elevated hydropillar tank at the Pelletier site, along with site grading, fencing, and a new water main connection. Improvements also included a passive mixing system for the existing Hibbs Road elevated tank.
• Water Distribution System Improvements
  Installation of approximately 30 miles of new water mains throughout rural roads and subdivisions, including associated valves, hydrants, and system components.
