The East Group provided full site design services to support the installation of two large-scale Continuous Drying Kilns (CDKs) at Weyerhaeuser’s Greenville lumber manufacturing facility. The project included grading and drainage design, utility extensions, stormwater management, foundations, and integration with existing plant infrastructure, along with the design of an aeration pond to support site and process needs.

Given the size and complexity of the CDKs, our team coordinated closely with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as equipment vendors and plant operations staff, to ensure proper fit, functionality, and safety.

The new CDKs significantly increase production capacity while reducing energy consumption and emissions. By optimizing the drying process, they improve product consistency and quality, extend equipment life, and support Weyerhaeuser’s long-term sustainability and operational goals.
