Architect

The East Group has an immediate need for an Architect with 10+ years of experience to work in our Raleigh, NC office. The position will present the opportunity to work on a variety of projects both in scale and type. Candidates must be a licensed architect in North Carolina, possess good communication and organization skills, and be able to work well in a team environment. A successful candidate will be given the opportunity to grow and progress in their career. Essential job responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining client relationships.

  • Communicating & interacting with clients to determine project goals, needs, & concepts.

  • Establishing project design programs and parameters with clients.

  • Designing or overseeing the design of project solution options for presentation and evaluation with clients, and establishing a final design solution.

  • Preparing drawings and documents for client and reviewer presentations.

  • Preparation of construction drawings as a member of the design team.

  • Preparation of construction specifications as a member of the design team.

  • Coordinating project compliance with applicable codes and rules.

  • Helping ensure quality and technical accuracy of the work.

  • Working within project schedules and design fee budgets.

  • Gathering comprehensive information about existing conditions, limitations, and opportunities that will impact design solutions.

  • Researching the "established knowledge" about any given design problem or project type to understand successes and failures of past projects designed by our peers.

  • Preparing project cost estimates and budgets.

  • Establishing a project design process and schedule, coordinating with the client & design team.

  • Communicating project goals & parameters to the design team.

  • Determining and sharing the project information needed to prepare a comprehensive design and construction documents.

  • Prepare or help to prepare project proposals to clients.

  • Communicating and coordinating with reviewing agencies for project approvals.

  • Participating in various construction administration activities: meetings, submittal review, inspections, design revisions, problem solving.

  • Mentoring less experienced staff.

  • Being a role model regarding attitude, ethics, and contribution to good company morale.

  • Keeping up with new developments in architectural approach, design, and technology.

Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
